Benny proposed to Megan June 8, 2013 in Des Moines Iowa.  He planned this event during Dino and Anne Righi's (Megan's grandparents) 60th wedding anniversary party.  The night was perfect, it was held at the Italian Victoria Lodge, with 180 of Dino and Anne's friends and family in attendance to celebrate their diamond anniversary.  Benny and Megan sang a song that they had written about her grandparents and once finished with the song, Benny had a surprise for everyone, especially Megan.  In front of the whole crowd, Benny sang a song he had written called 'Meggie Moo,' (her nickname).  At the conclusion, Benny got down on his knee and Bob, Megan's dad, brought the ring up.  All she could say was "I definitely do!" which Benny took as a "Yes."  And Dino shouted for the polka band to start playing for Megan and Benny to have the first dance!

A few fun facts, earlier that day at DeAnne's childhood home, Benny asked Bob for Megan's hand in marriage, in the exact same spot, that Bob had asked Dino for DeAnne's hand 38 years earlier.  Also, at the anniversary party everyone of Dino and Anne's wedding party were in attendance, including the flower girl!

Meggie Moo

I apologize Meggie it had to be this way, but I hope that you will see,

That I wrote this little diddy with you in mind, in front of your family.

- You know I love you

- I hope you love me too

Hey there little Meggie tell me what you see, when you look into the crystal ball,

Do you see flowers, plants and trees growing mighty wild and tall.

- Do you see me?

- Do you see you and me?

- Sitting under the tree.

(Chorus)

Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Moo–ooo-ooo.

I hope you understand I’ll never stop loving you.

Hey there little Meggie tell me what you hear, when you’re climbing all the way to the top,

do you hear the bugs n birds n bees singing songs that won’t stop.

- They’re singing ‘round me,

- They’re singing ‘round you and me.

Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Moo–ooo-ooo.

I hope you understand I’ll never stop loving you.

Hey there little Meggie will you still love me, if I had a big belly,

My brows ‘ll be bushy, my knees might creak, I’ll be bit rickety.

-Do you see me?

- With a big belly?

-A little bit rickety?

Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Moo–ooo-ooo.

I hope you understand I’ll never stop loving you.

Hey there little Meggie tell me what you see, on your diamond anniversary,

You’ll be sitting pretty at 90, I’ll be a wrinkly 93.

Do you see me?

Do you see you and me?

Wrinkly at 93?

Happy as Dino?

Happy as Anne Righi?

Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Meggie Moo–ooo-ooo.

I hope you understand I’ll never stop loving you.
